As a Clerk of Works, Gerry’s role is to familiarise himself with the contract documents and inspect all works in detail to check that they are compliant. Works in progress are recorded and defect notices/site observations are issued for any noncompliant works or any installations not to manufacturers’ details. Defects/site observations are logged until rectified on a tracker which is kept throughout the whole project. Inspections and relevant details are recorded in a daily diary to keep a contemporaneous record. A weekly report is then issued recording delay, progress, quality of work, defects, labour on site and any other relevant information. As a Clerk of Works I assist the CMT and contractor to achieve an on-time and compliant project, handed over snag-free and without hidden or latent defects.

Jul 2021 - Sept 2021
The removal and reinstallation of the cladding on Newport House, a 9-storey residential building approximately 24m in height. The building is of concrete frame construction, with the original outer walls being concrete panels, new rendered sections installed between floors and balcony balustrades infilled with HPL (high pressure laminate) panels.
August 2021 - May 2022
A new school with space for 420 pupils and 38 nursery spaces to meet the increasing demand for primary school places. The scheme will also provide 66 much-needed social rent homes.
